  • - 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • - 1 cup whole milk or half-and-half
  • - ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • - ¼ tsp salt
  • - ¼ tsp black pepper
  • - ¼ tsp onion powder
  • - 2 tbsp chopped fresh cilantro optional

Instructions
 

  • Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.
  • Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute, whisking continuously.
  • Slowly add milk, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens.
  • Stir in Parmesan, salt, pepper, and onion powder. Mix until cheese is melted.
  • For a cilantro twist, stir in chopped cilantro and simmer for 1 more minute. Remove from heat and serve warm.
